PROBLEM
The story of British-Asian landlords transforming the pub landscape had never been told on screen, despite being central to community and cultural life.
SOLUTION
Commissioned by The Campaign for Real Ale,
Desi: A Pub Story was developed and directed as a feature documentary, blending cultural history with contemporary storytelling.
Jay Rayner called it "an incisive piece of anthropology" in his review of the film in The Guardian.
Other highlights include:

The film is due for release in Autumn 2025 on CAMRA's Learn & Discover Platform
Director's Note: This project sits at the heart of what drives me: food, culture, and community told through a cinematic lens. My most important piece of filmmaking.
